LO: To research the social , historical and political context of the avengers.
1960s to 1965s
NOVEMBER 8 1960
In this election, the two candidates were, the Republican side - Richard Nixon and the Democratic was John F. Kennedy. This was one of the closest elections in American history. Kennedy was a newcomer also very young and a catholic. His votes were 49.7% and Richard Nixon was 49.5%. After a careful review from the eletoral college, Kennedy took home the gold by 0.1%vIn 1961, the soviets launched the first man in space. His name is Yuri Gagarin. He was only 27 years old. Yuri made his orbital flight in eighty nine minutes aboard the Vostock 1 spacecraft. Yuri was the first person to see that the earth was round. He also noted that most of earth is made up of water. After this historic event, he became a worldwide celebrity.

NOVEMBER 22 1963
President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. He was the 35th president of the United States. He was only 46 years old. President Kennedy was riding in an open top convertible in a parade. As his vehicle passed the Depository Building, Lee Oswald fired three shots on to the president. President Kennedy died 30 minutes later. Many people believed that it was a conspiracy that killed the president.
JULY 2 1964
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. This came about after several incidents in the south. President Kennedy wanted to end this. It was sent to the House on November 20, 1963, just two days before President Kennedy was assassinated. After a few days, President Johnson signed the bill into law.
OCTOBER 3 1965
President Lyndon Johnson signed the Immigration and Naturalization Act. It gives all newcomers from all parts of the world equal opportunity in the United States. The ceremony was held at the foot of the Statue of Liberty. This Act was done to keep immigration to a more manageable level. Also to bring family about reunification. And also to 0to end discrimination,

LO: To analyse representation and influence of social and cultural context in Series 4 , Episode 1.
. Characters - the main two characters are ( John Stead , Mrs Emma Peel )
. Setting - seaside town in England which in this Episode the German soldiers invade the town
. Props - The props used to represent the people's strength. for example John Stead his old fashion typical British stereotype suite and a metal hat , Emma peel is Modern Fashion at the time because the were's Leather jacket.
. Characters Interaction - The characters interaction separates because the german soldiers. Bad guys to the British good guys.
. Dialogue - Both the Main Characters speaks polite to each other.
. Stereotypes - as female protagonists Emma Peel is very Male type she likes to fight and she is kind to her Husband John. And John Stead is a calm and polite person and his fights with the german soldiers he finishes the work faster then his wife , his kind and polite to his Wife.
. Camerawork - the camera filmed Black and wight and the shot angles was impressive at the time and the movement used when it was action and the transition between both acton to normal movement was good at the time.
. Mise-en-scene -
. Editing - The editing was very impressive at the time because they used new sound effect and the effects used to show the fights and the lighting at night , the background used when Emma driving the motorcycle that was very impressive for the people watching the series.
. sound - The sound used in the series was fake and real. The gun sound was fake , the other type of sound was real.
. Upper class because they were wearing leather and smart clothing look.

Editing is used to show in the Avengers when john is burning the bartenders beard and then it cuts to the horseshoe on fire the fat guy puts the horseshoe on the leather to show john that is very hot after that it cuts when john goes on the floor , after when he gets the bucket full of water to cool down the
horseshoe , and the cuts gets quicker .

also the speed cuts is the acton fight this create tension and emphasises the movement and action,
SOUND
non diegetic music went from loud to quiet to emphasise the action , when the guy in the church the music gets loud and bass.

it used medium long shot was used to show when the blacksmith and john stead had a fight and after the fight when Emma peel and john stead the camera angle close up angle .

in the extract it they used music to create tention when john stead and blacksmith had a fight and the camerawork when the blacksmith put that horse shoe on the leather that shows how hot the horse shoe is that creates tention on the audience reaction. for example in between when john touch the handle and when he throws that bucket of water after that when john is on the floor and blacksmith gets close to him that creates tention and the sound increases
